Silk was born Fredericton at New Brunswick Canada. The daughter of Peter Silk, a professor, as well as Ilkay Silk who was a renowned actor and director. She was also a educator, playwright and Director of Drama of Drama at St. Thomas University. Anna recounts some of the first moments in her existence when she would go to see her mother in play rehearsals. Silk created a variety of commercials while she was still in the midst of her childhood. She graduated with a Bachelor's in Arts from St. Thomas University in 1997. Theatre St. Thomas produced two of its first productions: Seven Menus, and The Kitchen. Silk moved from Toronto in the month of November 1999, in the month of November 1999 to Los Angeles during the next decade. Silk met her husband, Seth Cooperman, at an actor's training in Los Angeles, in 2007. They got engaged in 2009, and they were married in a civil ceremony in December. In Fredericton on the 10th April of 2011 following her change to Judaism they exchanged vows in a Jewish marriage ceremony.
